The builders working on our new Ronald McDonald House site, FDC Construction, swapped their hi-vis vests for aprons during the holiday season to cook a Meals from the Heart dinner.
The staff from FDC downed tools at the end of the day and headed to the kitchen to prepare a feast and cook up a storm on the barbecue for the families staying at the House in the lead up to Christmas.
The Meals from the Heart program invites corporate and community groups to prepare a meal for families who are supporting their sick children and often don't have the time, funds or energy to prepare a healthy, home-cooked meal.
As construction continues on the new Ronald McDonald House site at Westmead, FDC has been consistently surpassing the project's monthly building targets. Click through to view the latest gallery and see the new 60-room house taking shape.
Following the recent grant of $6m in funding from the Federal Government, Ronald McDonald House Westmead is now closer to fully funding the expansion, that will accommodate 1360 families every year.
